The '01-02s usually tend to dyno a little higher than the earlier years. Notice I said usually, not always. But you see most of the higher stock 315+ rwhp numbers coming from '01-02s. There just seems to be more strong running ones from those years, again not all of them, but a decent number.

Personally my only experience with the above is when I raced a '98 Z28 that had the same exact mods as me; I was able to pull about 1.5 cars from a 50 roll. Maybe it was due to driving but I doubt it as I'm just average in that department... you could definitely tell my car had a bit more in it then the Z28. But you're right, its such a small difference that it really doesn't matter, and on any given a day an earlier LS1 can be just as fast or faster than the later editions.

 

that is a good kill i hate people driving the same car as me acting like little punks. There is one around here with a stock srt4 and i hooked him up with a loss to an ls1,
but dont say you need a lot of mods. I have less then $500 into my srt4 and she will and has beatIN Vettes c5's and a few ls1 camaros and a few other camaros not talking smack i would take a ls1 any day but just to let the stock ls1 guys know if you dont know how to drive or the srt4 has stage one or better a srt4 will take you if he knows how, on that note i raced 2 guys with t/a's one guy was running 14.9's with a lt1 auto and the other guy was running 14.5 in his ws6 so as he talked crap about my car i smoked him then asked if i could drive his car for 1 run he had a cold air and and some headers i barrowed some slicks took it out and ran a 12.837 @ 105 with it, he was real pissed considering the fastest time in my srt4 that day was a 12.986 at 103
ps just so everyone knows alls i had was stage 1 witch is 45# injectors and a new pcm good for 20 or 30 hp, and i have a cold air intake and i am pushing stock boost so i would be careful unless you have small mods srt4s are decent to 120 i try to keep it on the track though that way veryone knows who won

 

14.9 with an LT1 and 14.5 with a WS6??? What the f*** are they doing, only using 2nd gear? My LT1 with just a CAI had a best of 13.89 and thats with 2:73 gears? I think the track that you are running at has problems with their times or maybe they gave you the wrong slip?

 

no they were just really bad drivers and i mean really bad, when i raced them they got like a two or three second head start and i raped them so it was all driver, like i said when i drove the ws6 i ran a high 12 and i am an average driver. i have lost to more f body,s and ls1's then i have beatin but it can and does happen and if you look at my times i am pretty sure even with a good driver i could keep with or beat a stock camaro not saying much about the car since i am modded but if your driving around in your stock camaro and a race occurs between you and an srt4 you could loose i am in no way talking bad about f body's i am trying to convince my wife to let me buy one now so i have something to build a real fast car with and not spend $30,000 dolllars on tuning and parts and all the other crap it would take to make my car fast
