It was running race gas and large boost levels, but as far as I could tell, it was otherwise a full interior car. A very similar car smoked me when I was in my '95 Z28. May have well been the same guy, but the beating in the '95 was a few years ago. My current car and sole mod is in my sig.

Bottom line is that I've spanked quite a few American cars, but got soundly spanked by what I might have assumed was a "ricer" if I had seen it on the street. Even at the track I had no idea that the guys car ran low 12s. I don't assume anything anymore. Anyone that wants to run might have a very fast car (or truck) regardless of the brand badging.
Great point. Anything can be fast these days. I saw a 1st gen Talon running 12.7s at 4000' elevation until he blew up his clutch. I saw a blown V8 Pinto running 9s at 4000'!

Its all cool. Just thought I'd get back at you for mouthing my post earlier.
Your punctuation and grammar didn't **** me off, it was your mouthy comment towards my post.

I've got no hard feelings either, but DSM's are not ricey and thats something that people need to learn before they learn the hard way.
They are horribly unreliable though.

The thing is you dont have to be old to know about cars, i mean i grew up on all differnet types of cars and and taking classes at UTI and im only 19 so really you cant say to much againt that

the thing i finded with older people is that they have more money so they can afford to pay their mechiaics to do this work on their car, so in their mind they "really" know what their talking about

Same here. My dad has been a full time self-employed mechanic for most of my life so I know a little bit about cars and how to work on them, but if I don't know something there's a real good chance that he will.

Who said anything about his mechanical aptitude versus his age? Pay attention now...

Our 16 year old says:
"does it really f*****g matter, i mean c'mon it's a damn rice burner, a drunk guy on a bicycle could take on a ricer, and win blow it away"

And then the comments start about him having a lot to learn, he replies that he's been racing for 6 years, blah, blah, blah.

The fact remains that many "rice burners" are damn quick. Regardless of how old you are, if you state that a car is slow simply because it's Japanese, you DO have a lot to learn.
