V6 rear end

Ok I dont know if this guy is just telling me alot of bull **** to get rid of his rear end or not, but he has told me that he has a rear end out of a 94 v6 camaro and that it will bolt right up to mine. But not only that but this is the part I would really like to know. He told me that the V6 camaro came with 3.73 gears stock so that is what I am wondering. Well if you can help me out with those questions and also give me any information that might be helpful it would be great. Thank you so much

3.42 stock for that year. Do you have a 67?

It won't bolt right up to a 67 Camaro.... why not add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods.

I maybe wrong, but I thought the 2.73s and the 3.08s were the factory gears for the v6 platform. Regardless, 3.73s weren't offered in any factory rearend on the 4th gens from the factory.

Sorry I always forget to put what kind of car its for. I am putting it in a 94 z28 but I was pretty sure that they came with 2.73 also.

I think there were different rear axle ratios for the V6, depending on the tranny, and whether it had the Y87 performance package (3.42's).

Imagine a V6 with 2.73 gears, 0-30mph in 15 seconds.

From what I remember, 93-97 V6's had 3.42 open diff rears, and 98-02 had 3.23 and optional 3.42 open diffs with optional LSD.
Auto and manual shared the same rear ratio.

Very good point.

I pulled out my Chilton's book and did a little research and here is what I came up with.
1993 3.4L V6: GU5 3.23
1994-95 3.4L V6: GU5 3.23
1996-97 3.8L V6: GU4 3.08, GU5 3.23, GU6 3.42
