Too soft, or too stiff?

This weekend I installed HAL QA1's on the front with 300 lb springs and did the LS1 front brake conversion.

The install of the shocks and springs went fairly smoothly. The brakes were a different story. I had problem after problem.

Once I got the car back together, I started working on the ride height settings. I had a motorcycle wrech this weekend, so I didn't have enough strength or energy to get it set exactly where I want it, but I had enough to get it drivable for a few days and went and got it aligned.

I set the front shocks on 9 for now.

It's still too low, like below 26" I think, and I plan to bring it up about an inch, but the current problem is I think in the shock settings.

When I hit small bumps in the road way the front end bounces a bit. It doesn't free bounce like the shocks are worn out, it doesn't oscilate or anything. It's short controlled bouncing kinda like low-riders with hydraulics do and it doesn't last very long. I'm thinking that I've got the shocks set too firm, but wanted some other opinions.

Re: Too soft, or too stiff?

After doing a little checking the other day, I noticed that the small bounces were all tire and not suspension movement.

I lifted the car a bit yesterday and softened up the shocks to a 6 and it's better now. So it looks like I had it too stiff.

I accidentally lifted the car a little too high yesterday so I'm going to try to take it back down 1/2" or so, and I'll soften the shocks another click or two and see what that gets me.
