Suspension Questions

I was going to use the money to finish my nitrous kit but have decided to get some suspension work done.

I am going to be getting UMI

Subframe Connectors
Lower Control Arms
Panhard Rod

My question: is it worth getting the adjustable stuff or will the plain non-adjustable work fine? The car is a street car that hardly sees a track, maybe once a year. I will be putting in a Hotcam and spraying a 150 shot.

Re: Suspension Questions

Do you plan on lowering the car? If yes, get adjustable along with relocation brackets. If no, non-adjustable works just fine, and no relo brackets. Relo brackets help no matter what, though.

Re: Suspension Questions

I don't plan on lowering the car. I like the way it sits now and don't want to deal with clearance issue with the LT's.

How about as far as setting the pinon angle and stuff like that? I know I'll need a adjustable Torque arm, but what about the control arms???

Re: Suspension Questions

There is very limited use for "adjustable" LCA's. The only purpose I have found is to move the axle assembly back so my 28" slicks wouldn't rub on the front of the wheel openings. Other than that, I can't see a purpose. And the fact that the car is lowered is not a factor in determining the need for adjustability on the LCA's.

As far as the panhard rod, if yuo don't plan on lowering it, and the chassis is now correctly centered side-to-side over the rear axle assembly, there is no purpose in getting an adjustable panhard rod.

Re: Suspension Questions

LCA's no adjustable

I havent measured my rear end yet but if it is off then I will probably get an adjustable panhard rod.

Thanks guys!
