steering shaft

my buddy put my steering shaft on and it not all the way down on the on the rack it sitting up like a 1/4 inch when i asked him about it he said there was a ajustment is this true i also have play in steering wheel when driveing down the road thanks guys

the connection on the rack itself it will only go on in one spot the rack has a notch in there for the bolt to slide through.

thanks so it needs to go all the way down im going to try to get it down today and see if the play goes away in the wheel i also have a bmr k memeber with kook stepped headers could this be why he could not get down all the way

it sits down there, is it on at all, you have to take the bolt out to slide it in place.

when u put all the way down on the rack the bolt on the top hit the header so now i need to adj it back to wear it was is there a aftermarket one i could get that would work better it is like it needs to be longer
