steering rack leaks

found this pic

the fluid is on part 10 dont know if you can take it all apart and replace something or is it more practical to replace the whole rack...then pay to get a front end alignment

It's probably more practical to replace the whole rack. You could install it yourself, they are not hard to take out or put in. Two bolts on the wheels, two bolts through the k member, fluid lines, and the steering knuckle that attaches to the top.

i know its not taht hard...and ive got a spare sittin here but id rather just replace a seal or somethign if thats all i need to do...its just a slight hassel to get it aligned again...and costs money

I've never heard, or seen a replacement part for the rack and pinion before. But I know where you're coming from with the hassel and cost.

There are no replaceable internal parts on the rack.

I have a steering rack leak, and I found that Napa carries a rack seal kit. Has
anyone in the last year (since the last post on this thread) done this? This
leak isnt really bad its not making more than a soda can bottom circle on the
driveway. Other than the leak, the rack seems to work fine. Special tools?
