Question Ride height adjustment w/Hal setup

I installed the hal springs/shocks a few years back. I want to raise the car about 1/2" to 1" from where it is now. Do you compress the coil spring (spanner nut clockwise) or loosen the springs to increase the ride height?
I thought that compressing the coil spring will lower the car, right?
It doesn't say anything in the instructions about this.
Thanks

To raise the car height, you want to further compress the spring.

Thanks OBE, I adjusted it backwards Oh well, it's not that hard, you just have to jack the car up and take off the front wheels, that's the hardest part.
