Removal of Soft Brake line??

Anyone have an idea what the best method is to remove the soft/rubber brake line from a 88 Delta 88? My rubber line burst today while I was on my way to work, wasn't all that fun. But I made it back to my place, and found out that my soft line has a hole in it. So, I went and bought two new lines to install. I see that there is threads on the inside of the line, where the hard piece is. Anyways, do I just use a open ended wrench to remove the old lines? Do I just loosen that part that is hex shaped on the hard piece on the soft line? I've never done this before, this is why I ask. Any help would be great. Thanks.
