The put them at the angle that you lose when you lower your car. When you lower your car, the angle flattens.

For straight line traction purposes, you want the body end of the LCA to be located higher than the axle end of the LCA. When you launch hard, you want the front of the LCA to lift the body, causing the back end of the LCA to force the tires into the pavement. If you start with the LCA's "level", as soon as the body starts to squat on launch, the LCA pushes the body down farther, and the reaction at the axle end unloads the tire.

Road racing experts (like Sam Strano) suggest that the best handling position for the LCAs is parallel to the ground. For drag racing Fred did a great job in the post above to describe the physics.

The problem you will have with running them on a road race track or autocross is the potential for brake hop. Anytime you increase your anti-squat you increase the chance of brake hop. If you can increase your anti-squat without inducing the brake hop you will be able to accelerate out of a corner better.

So do you guys think relocation brackets will help a non-lowered car hook up better. I was under the impression that they would, but the guys at ls1speed told me different. They said that it wouldn't do anything, he told me to get a TQ arm if i wanted better 60fts.

Re: relocation bracket for lca's

The LCA relo brackets will improve straight line traction, even if the car is at stock ride height. The back of my car sits a little higher than stock with the Eibach Drag Launch springs, and the LCA brackets were the key to getting rid of wheel hop. I've also seen them make a major improvement in a 30th SS convertible, at stock ride height, that eventually ran 8.60@160+ MPH.
