Rear shock removal

How do you remove the top end of the rear shocks on my 99 z???

Either you remove the carpet in back, or you find the perforations in the carpet behind the back seats. If you cut the perforations, you'll find the top of the shock underneath the flap. Then you put an open ended wrench on the bottom nut, and brac preferably a ratcheting wrench on the top nut, and then a hex wrench into the top of the shock and begin working on the ratcheting wrench while holding the hex steady.

I just put the rear seats down and pulled up all the carpet...then you can see the foam pads..remove those and the top of the shock is underneath.
