question about broken spring

what are the symptoms of a broken spring? b/s when i jump on it from a stop it feels like and sounds liek teh rear end is kicking backwards a little and i get a loud clunk, but fi i ease it up from the start then at about 5-10 mph gun it, it feels fine. also when doing hard braking i'll ge tthe clunk sometimes, and also when gunning it and the tranny shifts when i'm close to redline i get the wierd jerk and clunk. thanks for all your input -chris

Also it was doing all this before i installed the few parts down below.

Btw i drive a 94 camaro v6 3.4l with a 2 piece ds

current mods are:
Lca's
Bilsteins in the back
and PHR

my question is if you put the shocks in the rear didn't you inspect the springs?

I tore a trans mount once and had almost the exact symptoms you described, of course, I could feel the trans rocking and banging on the floor pan also.

when i changed the shocks i was kinda in a rush due to bad weather heading my way so i didn't bother checking the springs, i will however check them later today when i get back in town.

Also i only had oen time when i thought it was the tranny mount. i was going over a bump a little faster than i should ahve and i got a loud knocking sound coming from somwhere in the tunnel. what are the chances that its my tranny moutn and upper spring mount ?
