Re: Panhard Rod??

The adjustable rod moves the body from side-to-side relative to the rear axle assembly. Is the body centered correctly over the rear axle now? When you drop the chassis, the body will move very slightly to the passenger side, relative to the rear axle assembly.

If you even think you will lower it later, get the adjustable. Better that, then having to buy two of them. Some stock cars are not completely centered, anyway.

Re: Panhard Rod??

My car is a convertible ... I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but mine was out over 7/16", just a cunnair shy of half inch. If you looked closely, from behind, you may even have been able to see it?

Anyways, that is on stock springs stock rideheight.

I got an adjustable one, loaded the suspension, and busted out my plumb bob and haven't looked back. I got her to within 1/32" and I figure, if your within a 1/16th, thats good enough for a street car.

Oddly, it takes very little adjustment to really move the body. I think turning the PHB 3 or 4 complete turns is all it took to swing the body back over the axle centered properly.

Re: Panhard Rod??

As stated above, a stock ride height car can be off with side to side location. An adjustable bar can correct this.

Re: Panhard Rod??

We are very careful when selecting adjustable vs non-adjustable LCA's and probably sell a 50/50 mix of both. But for Panhard Bars, adjustable is by far the most popular item. A nice double adjustable poly/poly is a great and inexpensive investment.

Panhard Bars : UMI Performance, Inc.

Let me know if I can help you select.
