I used a plumb-bob. Basically it's a string with a weighted object tied to the end (like a nut or a screw). I taped that to the outside of my fender and allowed it to hang down. Once it stopped swinging, I measured with a ruler the distance from the wheel to the string. I did the same on the other side and basically adjusted the pan hard bar until my measurement was balanced between the two strings. Hope this helped

If you add LCA relo brackets, you do not need to get adjustable LCA's. The relo brackets have the holes arranged in a slight arc, so that the stock LCA length will work no matter which hole you use.

The theory is to drop the axle end of the LCA until it is slightly below the other end on the body. If you could do that with the first hole, it will be OK. In practice, I just put mine in the lowest hole.... actually Steve Spohn just put them there. But my car is pretty much "track only", so I don't know if that is the preferred approach for a street driven car.

It's a good idea. If the holes in the specific set of LCA relo brackets are a little "off", being able to tinker with the lengths of adjustable LCAs is the simplest way to cope with this. Same need for adjustability goes for brackets (even "perfect" ones) that have been installed less than perfectly.
