Wise choice. It is possible to run these cars w/o a torque arm, but you have to do some work. The first generation SSM Lift bars allowed you to eliminate the torque arm on 3rd gens. That was especially handy when running a 9" (which has no T/A mount).
Are these similar to the lakewood lift-bars that have a nasty habit of ripping off the axle and spinning cars into a ditch on high-speed manouvers?

I understand how lift-bars are intended to work, but I worry about them knowing a guy who ditched a 4th gen with them. I'd wager they're not as efficient at controlling housing rotation as a Torque Arm would. The lift bars probably place the welds/mounts under high stress which would explain my buddies crash.... but it's just a guess really.

I dunno... without a 4-link conversion I probably wouldn't ditch the TA myself.

Yeah, those Lakewoods were wastes of metal. The metal could've been used for something constructive like a big trash can to throw the belongings of the engineers who designed them into after they're FIRED!

They're similar, but stronger. Even the newer SSMs aren't like the 1st series. They were nice on a 3rd gen back when no one made bolt-in 9" or 12-bolt housings. I also agree with the 4-link comment too. Why half-*** it?
