Arrow No Brake Pressure!!! Dangerous Stuff!

Hey

I just acquired a '97 Camaro Z28 with an Auto Tranny and I was baking it into my garage and noticed there was no brake pressure, had to use the E brake. I tried filling the BRake Fluid to level but every time i had someone pump the brakes, it sounded like a 'squishing' noise. ::::Prior History:::: Got into a Medium Front End Accident and Side Swipe :::: If I had to guess these two are related some how. Any insight on what i should check? or anyone have the same problem? Any input would help.

thanks
chris

Yeah I figured he'd know to check the master cylinder....

On another note, no brakes after your master cylinder failed? They have dual master cylinders for that very reason..How old was the car?

It was on my 97....

yea, but duals don't help when the o-rings in the MC go, and pressing the pedal does nothing except move the piston and the fluid all goes around the piston...

That what I figured. Either leak or a Bad master cylinder. They have some used ones on eBay for a decent price. If its not the master cylinder and its a leak, whats the worst case scenario as far as the leaks go?

Typically if it's leaking, it's just a rubber line that's easially replaced. Most of the stuff in the brake system isn't that expensive and can normally be replaced fairly easially.
