LS1 Brakes - torque specs

I'm in the process of upgrading my brakes to the LS1 style. Although I can find lots of information on the upgrade itself, I cannot find torque specs. I used the LT1 ratings for the ball joints and tie rod - as I didn't see the there would be any difference in those. But, I could see the calipers more than likely being different.

Specifically, I am looking for torque rating on the following:
1) Caliper mounting bracket bolts
2) Caliper bolts.

If anyone can point me in the right direction or provide these numbers, I would most appreciate it.

Thanks.

Re: LS1 Brakes - torque specs

I don't think I want to go hand tight - I'm sure they back themselves out, my fingers aren't that strong

I think the caliper bolts I'll set at 30 ft.lbs

I know the mounting bracket bolts on my truck are spec'd at 150 ft.lbs. - so, since the car is lighter and has smaller brakes, I'm thinking maybe somewhere in the range of 100 - 120 ft lbs.

Doesn't anyone have a service manual for there LS1?

Re: LS1 Brakes - torque specs

I didn't get the abutment bracket bolts that hold the brackets to the spindle tight enough and one came all the way out, and the other loose, letting the caliper move around and chew up the inside of one of my new $300 wheels.

When I checked the Haynes manual for the torque specs when putting it all back together, the book called for 74 ft. lbs. I believe. I also used some RED loctite for a little extra insurance.

Hey, thanks.

That's sounds like a good number to me.
