Re: ls1 brake upgrade

Yes the difference is quite noticeable,I did the conversion on my 94 TA way back in 2000.

I have 99 TA and 01 V6 Bird now so I kind of take good brakes for granted now.

Re: ls1 brake upgrade

I was rather surprised after I had all raybestis advanced technology rotors and pads all the way around and the braking still sucked

Re: ls1 brake upgrade

When I did my brake conversion I had read a bunch about the rears do not make a big difference and the.are not worth it to swap....... Well, I am glad I swapped the brakes in stages!
For me I did the rear first and immediately I noticed a HUGE difference in stopping force coming from the rear so the next week I swapped the front and WOW the smile on my face spoke......

Of course me being the spirited type of driver I had to put them to the test 100+ MPH to 0 was MUCH much better. Once this swap is done it will let you know right.off the bat GM put too small of brakes on our Lt1 cars..... I never once had a problem with my Lt1 brakes either they just were not efficient enough for my kind of driving.......

From what I remember you need the axles from the 98-02 camaro along with all the hardware, brackets and cables.
Then axles are a little longer because of the parking brake shoes.
The ports on the 98-02 master cylinder are a different size so you won't be able to use it with out I would think replacing all the lines or at the very least the rear.
Hopefully somebody will chime in about using the master cylinder out of the 98-02 camaro.
