LS1 brake swap, hardlines also to swap?

I've been reading different threads about the swap and the main thing is the "problem" with the length of the brake hose. Most say that they just use the LT1 hoses but they found them a bit short, others use C5 hoses and find them a bit long. But I never read that anyone is swapping the hardlines from the donor car also. Would that "fix" this issue or are they not interchangeable from 98+ cars to -97 cars?

Ok, I figured it should be easier to just get the C5-brake hose than swap the lines...
