Why did you need an understanding girlfreind to help you out?

I did a full rear axle swap and still didn't need her help, did it all myself

Either way nice write up...

That's the route I went. Think I paid $200 for the '98 rearend out of a Z28, 3.23 gear. I had some help though - from a buddy. And on my part - it just took a patient and forgiving wife.

Nice Writeup!

to swap or not to swap...
that is the question...

what would be better for a garbage v6 (3.4) axle swap or conversion?

I actually found it cheaper to go with the disks and gears separately, but most people dont. I got my gears and zexel lsd for under 150... and the brakes were 100. Other components probably totaled 150 also. Do whatever you find it cheaper to do. Shipping an axle is usually where the price gets nasty.
