lower control arm bolts

I replaced the lower control arms on my 94z. While tightening the two nuts and bolts I noticed alot of movement with the bolts. Is this an area that the alignment shop adjust? If so, where would be a good starting point to tighten these bolts. Toward the engine or towards the wheel? When I removed the bolts I should have marked them with some spray paint or some thing

The bolts go through fixed holes, no alignment. Your holes may have ovalized over time. A welding shop can repair the holes by welding metal in these areas and redrilling the holes. For the LCA axle holes, you can buy some LCA relocation brackets that weld into place and the improve you LCA angle for improved traction.

Not only that, but a lot of LCAs are set up for half-inch bolts, whereas the ones on your car are 12 mm. That means there is .028 inches of sloppiness in there from having a smaller diameter bolt. I'm going to be drilling my body holes oversize to .500 inches and installing some new 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts with good, long shanks to eliminate the slop.

Are you talking about the front lower control arm (A-arm) or the rear lower controls arm? With your reference to movement toward the engine, sounds like you are talking about the front lower A-arm. If that's the case, the movement is there because that is what is used to adust the front end alignment. Put them in the middle of the avaiable range of motion and drive directly to an alignment shop.

If you are in fact tlaking about the rear lower control arms, the posts above are applicable.
