KYB AGX's and Comp. Eng. drags. Will I be happy?
I just bought KYB AGX adjustable shocks for the front and Competition Engineering drag shocks for the rear. Using with stock springs. Will this combo help my launch out a lot?
no.
The rears are ok but the AGXs will not help you launch.
I have AGXs on all four corners and as drag racing shock they pretty much suck.
They would make a very good street handling shock, its not that they are a bad shock its just that they don't do drag racing well.

Yea I've learned that, I guess I should have searched the board before I bought them instead of after. lol I ordered from summit and they said they already shipped and its too lat to cancel/modify the order damnit.
If you cant return them then take a hit and sell them on the forum or to someone and buy what you really need instead of having to buy them later on and lose more money on the shocks and have to do the job twice. Thats just IMO
I doubt you will recover your money on here. I would just take the hit for the 10 dollar shipping charge or whatever it is and put all that money towards some QA1s.
Will the QA1's really make that much difference? Because really thats more money then I wanted to spend right now which is why I went with the KYB's in the first place. Will it be worth that much more money I guess is what I'm trying to say? As in helping me launch THAT much better?

I had done a bit of reasearch on the forum and that's pretty much the conclusion I came to... that is QA1's in the front and comp engineering in the back. The 12-way adjustable QA1's are fixed compression (that is FIRM) and adjustable on the rebound, so you can set them at say 6 and will behave like 50/50, and at the track adjust them to the softest setting for maximum rebound and weight transfer. Driving around with them in the street the past few days set on 6 (with the rear comp's on 50/50) and honestly the ride isn't that much different than stock. I'll let you know how they are on a drag launch.
If you decide to get a refund from summit and get the QA1's you should check out Speed Engineering they are having a sale right now! The stocker star 'R' series shocks are only 160$ or so each (compared to other vendors).
