IRS for 4th Gen??? Anyone know if this is possible?

I've noticed that there are kits for 1st gen's, but was wondering if anyone has done a conversion for our newer cars. What exactly would be the benefits of IRS.

Just bored and curious.

Better street manners, better handling on uneven surfaces, more comfortable ride.

A live rear axle works much better for high-power acceleration. IRS is the reason that GTO, CTS-V, and Corvette all launch with wheel hop, while F-bodies hardly ever experience that.

IRS is better for reasons already stated.

I hate wheel hop. A well-set-up LRA makes me happy.

Yeah, what ever happened with that? I kind of remember the person saying that they were almost done with the prototype. Then again, maybe my memory is totally off.

Lightbulb It has beeen done and it is in the works

I too was after a vette IRS in my 4th gen Camaro (94) After a long hard search and talking to almost every chassis builder i found some one who had done it in his 94 Firebird.

The short story, go to F-Body motorsports, look under Photo Gallery, Look at Jay's Formula and you will SEE pics of an C4 IRS installed.

http://www.fbodymotorsports.com/jay_s_94_formula

He is still Dialing in the details, but he already knows i will be ordering the first kit available...

Just thought you would like to know....
