Inner Tie Rod ends

Okay... stupid question number 2.

How are the inner tie rod ends removed? On my truck there was a nice little hex nut we just hooked a tie rod tool to and twisted. I just pulled the boot on the Camaro and thing this is round as round can be. No where to use a wrench or tool...

Finally dug up my Chilton and it gives no info for the inner.

Are these supposed to be non removable or is there a trick I'm missing?

Re: Inner Tie Rod ends

Probably a good thing I'm doing this work... I don't think Tie Rods are supposed to look like that. And seeing right through a control arm bushing is probably pretty bad too ><

inners can be taken out with a pipe wrench. just be careful how much force you put against it. the internals of the rack can be messed up. there is a specific inner tie rod tool, but I have yet to have any need for it. NAPA PT. # 3312

I got it. I didn't realize the plastic cap came off until a buddy pointed it out to me in one of shoebox's diagrams. It was stuck over the tie rod pretty tightly, took a good bit of tapping with a screwdriver and mallet to get it off.
