How to install rotors

Ok, so I bought some new rotors from ebay,... I had never pulled apart the caliper from the rotor to look at it so, my mechanical skills are pretty much crappy.. anyway, I took it off and took of the rotor, I put the new rotor in just to find out it is a tad wider than the stock ones, same fit, same diameter, just a tad wider, what do I do to fit them? The caliper wont fit cuz the pads are just to close together/.. thnx.

You usually need to compress the piston in the caliper back in. It can be done with a C clamp or i believe they sell special tools to do it also.

Re: How to install rotors

After reassembling, you pump the brake until the pedal firms up. That firm feeling is the pad touching the rotor.

Re: How to install rotors

2nd that on torque. use some loc-tite on the 2 caliper bolts. one of mine came off once and that was not fun. good thing i was going slow. big rattling as the caliper was hitting the inside of the wheel
