home made subframe connectors
subframe connectors problems
Ok I got my car back from the shop today and noticed they used angle iron for the subframe connectors. Now, the car is going to have a 355 TPI with a possible blower or NOS. The rearend gear I plan to run are 3.73 and I plan to launch in hard when its at the track. The angle iron appears to be 1/4" thick and looks like plan steel. The car is going back to him this weekend to have the angle iron welded better to the car. I need some feedback on if these angle iron pieces will work or what I should do before I go back there to get it completely welded.
Thank You for the time

thanks for the time first off.
Yea I am really mad at this guy. He doesnt return my phone calls or anything and I got him to fix it this weekend and now has some "flooding". well I think I am going to buy a kit and I hope I can cut this angle iron junk off and try to find a welder that can do it for me .

I have another question now. When I take these pieces of angle iron out ( there tacked lol so it should be too hard) and go to install the real squared subframe connectors will the frame of the car be tweaked or anything from welding heat or what not? I maybe put like 30 miles on the car sense the angle iron was installed and I dont make enough power to tweak anything yet.
