The Bilstein kit isn't that great. Look into Hotchkis or BMR springs.

There is one man for the job: Sam Strano. His springs and sway bars are matched with Koni's or Bilsteins. The stuff is real nice. That's the next group of stuff going on my car.

^ Yep.. Strano Springs and Koni Singles.. THe fronts may look like struts, but they're like a coil over.

Check one of the latest issue of GMHTP w/ the Strano Springs and Koni Single adjustable shocks. Good setup.

No matter how good they are, Strano springs lower more than an inch.

As do pretty much all springs. I'm one of the "not low" springs, and FWIW, we're pretty much between 1-1.2" on most cars. I don't think that .2" or so is really that noticeable. And I find that most folks kick out a number that's largely arbitrary, and often based on pictures of cars that have springs that are "supposedly" x.xx" drop.

try swapping to v6 struts up front and v6 springs/shocks in the back.

I did that to my car and it lowered it about 3/4-1"

it drastically reduced body roll and greatly increased weight transfer. So I hook better off the line, and my car handles better. and for all four corners, I paid $40 for everything off of a 10K mile car.

I had bilstein HD's on my car before and the difference is night and day.

How would softer V6 springs reduce body roll?

Only thing I can think of is the lower center of gravity from being dropped that 3/4"-1"

I can say that there's a lot less body roll in my car and in my buddy's 95 z28 that got the v6 swap.

If he goes Koni then he can use the stock springs and use the lower perch on the front for a ~.75" drop and do the !isolator mod on the rear springs.

The V-6 springs are softer than V-8 springs. If your cars handles better it's because your Bilstein's were done and the DeCarbon's you put on are better. The car is lower because the springs are softer. But springs and bars control roll, softer springs do not make for less body roll.

Something is fishy here, and since you didn't just change the springs, but both the springs and shocks this isn't a valid argument. Softer springs will not decrease body roll. But shocks can and will slow the rate of it if they are better than what you had, and that is interpreted as just "less roll" all the time.
