Help Changing LT1 rear brake hoses? Does this washer stay in?

I've just put an LT1 rear in my 91, im also putting on the Earl's stainless steel brake hoses, I have some crush washers to use, I'm thinking this coppirsh washer in the picture is supposed to come out but I want to make sure before I continue and waste alot of time.. As you can see on one side its stuck on there and the other it came off..

You need some sort of washer in there. It is what seals the banjo bolt and prevents leaks. You mentioned you had crush washers, if you have new washers you can discard your old ones, but you can usually reuse the copper washers, but you must have some sort of crush washer in there.

So i can pull out the copper peice with the grooves in it out of that one caliper and then just use new crush washers to the flat surface of the caliper?

I know I need a washer in there, I just was not sure if the new washer goes directly against the caliper or if that grooved washer needed to be there... thanks!

You need 1 brass crush washer between the caliper and brake line.
