Re: help - brake light on

The "BRAKE" light has a dual purpose - the e-brake, and also indicates unequal hydraulic pressure between the front and rear braking circuits. The pressure switch is in the block on the side of the ABS motor pack, that the front and rear brake lines from the master cylinder connect to. What did you do with that block/switch when you deleted the ABS?

Or maybe you pinched the e-brake switch harness wires and shorted them when you were working on the console.

thanks for the quick reply. i removed the abs module and block in one piece. grounded the lt green wire to keep the abs in op light off. i do not think my brake light was on after i did the delete.i must have done something when i was messing with the console

Did you ever figure out your brake light problem?

I too have removed ABS and have both the ABS & BRAKE light on. Here's a shot of the couple connectors I unplugged. I don't see what I would call a light green wire on them. Is it the green wire in the middle in the first pic?

Thanks

Re: help - brake light on

yes i did get it straightened out. i needed to unplug the ebcm module that is under the drivers side dash. I had to ground the light-Green wire @ the EBCM to fix the brake light on problem. i think what you (and i ) unplugged is where the abs motor was.

Oh ok, yes you're right, these are the connectors at the ABS unit underhood. I'll look for the EBCM under the dash. Thank you very much for that!
Did you also have an ABS light on?

Re: help - brake light on

Hey thanks for that info...I unplugged the EBCM and the BRAKE light went out. Grounded the Lt grn wire and the ABS light went off. One of the two also turned off my LOW OIL light.
Thanks again!

FULL DISCLOSURE: my car is an LS swap

glad you got the brake light issue straightened out but i do not think the EBCM has anything to do with the low oil light
