HAWK pads are DUSTING!

My last pad rotor combo was shot because the dealer did a crapy job and they dusted BAD (work done before I got the car). I just put in new rotors and HAWK pads and they still dust and the calipers have all been rebuilt so I have no idea whats going on. I thought HAWKS were 99.9% dust free or whatever. I don't mean a little dust I mean covering the wheels dust.

Are you sure they are Hawk pads? Did you buy them and put them on or someone else? Mine don't dust at all.

Yep, got them from thunderracing and put them on myself.
Once the beater is fixed I think I will pull it all apart again....

First, which Hawk pads? There are several different compounds manufactured by Hawk. The HP+ dust pretty bad, the HPS have minor dusting.

Who ever said Hawk pads don't dust? They do. It's normal. If you are worried about dust more than performance, go back to the GM pads. GM pads are fine, just not their rotors.

Re: HAWK pads are DUSTING!

My Hawk HPS pads are dusting very little. In fact, when I looked at my rims yesterday, I thought to myself that they might be dusting less than the stock pads, and that includes the second break-in that I did on them a few days ago.
