grease gun question

on a pistol grip grease gun, does one squeeze of the trigger give out the same amount of grease as a lever action gun? I only have a pistol grip, and on some of my BMR stuff it says to put in two pumps from a grease gun. When I was younger and did not care about "messy" I would just pump it until I seen grease squeezing out of the sides, but now I rather do it less messy, and like the instrutions say too. I know this is a dumb question, but I am bored and curious.

Re: grease gun question

i'd put in the recommended two pumps. otherwise, pump it untill the old grease starts to seep out, then wipe off the excess grease.
