Well, I was in the process of installing the front lowering springs. Everything thing comes out no problem. I pull the strut out and see that the top nut to pull the strut out is rusted to hell. So we take the impact to them to hopefully break them loose. One of them almost came off but stops. Any idea of how to get these off without cutting the strut? I was thinking of cutting the bolt but, I don't have a small enough cutting tool.

 

If you're going with lowering springs you shouldn't run stock shocks anyway.

This is a common problem. I ended up taking a chisel to the nut. When going back together, pack that area with grease.

 

You are going to want to replace the shocks anyway. No sense in doing all that work and leaving an old shock on there. Just chisel/Dremel off the nut or cut the rod. Make sure you have the spring compressed or you will die. BTW, it's a coil-over shock, not a strut.

 

FYI although it sounds harsh he's not joking at all...

 

I got the lowering springs on. The only problem is the front is slammed and the back didn't lower much at all. Would it be because I have LCA's on the back?

 

If you mean did the back drop less than the front, because you have AFTERMARKET LCA's in the rear, the answer is no. The LCA's have nothing to do with the ride height.
