Front Shocks
Front Shocks
So I just got my front shocks (bilsteins) back from a garage I had mount them in the springs..and I don't think they did the whole "mark the shocks/mounts and put them back together the same way" deal. When the top of the shocks are mounted, the bottom of the shock, the bar with holes in it, doesn't line up to the a-arm. Would I be better off putting it in a spring compressor and turning the shock body until it's lined up correctly, or attempt to rotate the rubber bushing/bar in the bottom of the shock. I'm thinking the spring compressor option? The shock will turn once pressure is off the bottom mount that the spring sits on, right?
Re: Front Shocks
Yeah thanks, in hindsight that was probably a dumb question. Worth noting though for others that if you put the spring compressor on the spring the right way (bolt end pointing down) the shock with the compressor on it will fit up into the top mount holes so you can accurately spin the shock to where the bottom mounting bar lines up with your a-arm bolt holes. Avoids having to put the spring compressor on and off a few times to get it right...
