do weld in relocation brackets work for dana 60?
So, I will be getting a dana 60 rear soon, and I was wondering if the weld in or bolt in relocation brackets will work with them? I dont see how they coudln't, it is set up for the same car, so everything has to bolt up the same, right?
My car is stock ride height, but its in storage and its a long ways away from my house. So I cant visually go see if the the axle side is higher than the body side or not. I know that the body side should be slightly higher than the axle side from what I have read...but with old cars (mines a 95) the springs can get weak and change the geomety.
So, is it even worth it to do the relocation brackets, and should I?
Will they work with the strange s60?
Thanks
Cody

Ask the people who make them if they will fit the Strange/Dana. Strange uses factory brackets on the 12-bolt, so that they are fully compatible with stock and stock-replacement components. The Moser brackets on the other hand, are different, and require a relo bracket specific to the Moser rears. Spohn sells one set that fits stock, Strange and Currie, and another for Moser.
If you need a Strange 60, you definitely want weld-in brackets.
From my experience, for drag applications the relo brackets work wonders - including stock or even slightly raised ride height.

Fred (Injuneer) has actually done all of this stuff. I just read a lot.
So if you need to pick between his opinion and mine, go with his.
There are no upper control arms.... so that isn't a "fix" for a 3rd or 4th Gen.
I had major traction/wheel-hop after the 12-bolt install. Steve Spohn personally installed the LCA relo brackets, and the problems went away. A buddy of mine with a very high HP 30th SS wasn't able to get it under a 1.4x 60-ft. Steve Spohn welded in his relo brackets, and made a few other tweeks, and the car went 1.30. Both my Formula and the 30th SS were at or above stock ride height.

sweet, alright then. Fred wins. ;o)
Now, are all relocation brackets the same? By that I mean are the adjustability about the same, or is one brand seeming to work better then the rest...
Fred, you mentioned spohn... but I know there are others out there...
and I assume the weld in type would be best? Or should I get bolt ins and try them, and if they work good then just weld them in?
Im deffinately getting excited for this traction mod...
