Do I need my rear sway bar?
Do I need my rear sway bar?
When I replaced my 10bolt with a 9 inch the sway bar brackets obviously didnt match up so I just removed the whole sway bar. I heard it wouldnt really have much effect unless im doing road course or sumthin. Should I bolt it back up or no? I heard I will launch better with it off but at the same time I have heard I will launch better with it on? Which is true?
Re: Do I need my rear sway bar?
Without the rear sway bar, the car is going to be subject to heavier understeer in cornering. On the drag strip, there will be less resistance to body roll, and the right rear is going to squat and the left front tire is going to lift. I'd recommend keeping it. The best drag setups generaly include a much heavier rear sway bar (e.g. Wolfe, Spohn) to keep the body level and to allow it to be preloaded to keep the car going straight off the line.
