Decoupled Torque Arm
Decoupled Torque Arm
i was checking out the unbalancedengineering.com setup, and it was intruiging as i had never even really thought of a different design of a torque arm setup, other than possibly a 4 link style...
is anyone here running their setup? is your car a weekend street runner? is there alot of loud thuds due to getting on and off the gas? what was your 60' improvement if any?
i currently have just LCA's and slicks for my "suspension" mods, and cut 1.6's...i would like to bring that down into the 1.5 even possibly 1.4. will converting to a decoupled torque arm accomplish this?

Re: Decoupled Torque Arm
Yeah, I saw that setup to, and I really like the idea. The launch charectoristics of a short arm and teh handling/braking of a long arm.
I was also wondering about the noise, and what "stops" the arm after it de-couples?

Re: Decoupled Torque Arm
you are gonna need more than just a torque arm and LCA's to cut some good 60' times. some good coil-overs up front will help a lot. all i have is a cheap jegs torque arm with QA1's all around a BMR extreme duty rear sway bar and cut 1.37 60's leaving off idle. i am going to try the trans brake this saturday at the mfba meet at us41. hoping for low 1.3's maybe even high 1.2's
