Cut my Eibachs to level my 02 Z28

Hey everybody. Just wanted to do a little show and tell for everyone. I bought a ProKit from Eibach along with some Billsteins to help the handeling of my car. I don't want to go into the detail of my suspension setup but the basics include Hotchkis bars, Umi weld in subframes, poly bushins, BMR LCRs and a on-car adjustable Umi Panhard rod and a SLP STB. Long story short, the car drove just fine but I hated how the front fender gap was about 1" higher then I felt it should have been. I have cut springs before but always stock springs and had GREAT results. I decided today to cut my front Eibachs.

I removed the springs and cut approximately 3/4th of a coil from the bottom.

Then reinstalled them...All while listening to Craig Way cap the Longhorns BEAT DOWN of the OU Sooners.

The car is now sitting EXACTLY where I want it to. Also the car drives FANTASTIC, no difference in ride quality or handeling, everything is still very good!

So, you CAN CUT SPRINGS, for the record......but don't do it with stock shocks or something!

Rest of the pics

I sure did. If you check the dates on those 'Before' Pics you will see I waited about 4 months. The springs DID settle, but not more then a 1/4 of an inch.

how did you cut the springs? allot of the time its the heat that kills springs, not loosing a coil or two.. but i agree, looks great bro

A Craftsman angle grinder with a cut off wheel did the truck just fine. Took about 6 minutes to cut both springs. The springs were not hoter then 100° after I cut them. I wanted to give people a reference on the prokit in case they had the same issue as I did.
