can worn shocks induce wheel hop?

I have a six speed 93 that cut high 1.6-1.7 60' on engine and low 1.5 on nitrous. It was great. It was mostly stock. (Suframes and LCA)

Then the wheelhop began. I have tried the following to cure.

1. replaced trans and torque arm mounts with polyurethane.
2. replaced torque arm with adjustable sphon.
3. verified pinion angle at-2.

So now I'm frustrated. I'm thinking about the shocks. My logic was worn out stock shocks can't be bad as hard as it hooked. But now I'm thinking the job of the shock is to control the springs oscilation. If the shock can't keep up, it digs when the clutch is dropped, then starts to unload the axle and bounce.

Does this sound reasonable? Has anyone else had a similar experience? I just don't want to keep throwing money at it and not enjoy the hard launch. Thanks

that definately makes sense. thants how it works on the road, shocks controll the spring and hold your ride from bouncing down the road after every bump
