Cage?

Where is the best place to get one and does it need to 6 pt or 8 pt for 11.99 or faster?? I heard they might have changed the rules since they did with the t-top cars.

Thanks,
Benji

DaVinci Motorworks, Belleville, IL: 618-222-1201 Ask for Mark or Ron.

Andy McCoy Racecars: 314-614-4944

Both are somewhat close to your location.

you only need a 6 point for NHRA at that time.

and I *think* its not till 9.99 that you need an 8 point.

I'm pretty sure the t-top rule was waived this year.

In that case, you would only need a 6-pt for 11.99.

For coupes and T-tops, NHRA requires a 5-point roll bar for all cars running 11.99 and quicker. A 5-point cage is 2 for the hoop behind the driver, 2 for the braces to the rear, and one for the single brace to the front, passing between the driver's shoulder and elbow. The "6th" point... the brace on the passenger side, is not mandatory. Neither are the diagonal braces from the hopp to the floor, included on the 8-point roll bars.

A full cage is required for cars running 9.99 and quicker. That includes the hoop behind the driver, the two rear braces, two side braces, two rocker panel tubes, two diagonals from the hoop to the floor, a halo to the windshield, and two braces from the halo to the floor.

Its worth reading the rule book before the install.

I appreciate everyone's help. Is this a hard task to do? I know the interior has to come out, but is it really that difficult?

Thanks,
Benji
