Bilstein Install Question!!!

hi, just finished installing some bilsteins and had a question. on the front shocks, bilsteins come with a small rubber bump stop (these look like the same as the rears). instead of installing the bump stop i just used the boot protector (it has a rubber bump stop made into it) from my stock shocks. has anyone ever done this before? think this would make the ride quality the same, if not better? thanks for any advice.
