best manual tranny fluid

What is the best 6-speed tranny fluid to buy and where. Do they have a synthetic.
I believe that I read somewhere that it holds 4 quarts?
thanks

some might dissagree but royal purple is probably the best oil on the market but its expensive. I personaly use royal purple in my rear end but not in anything else.

Redline MTL.

Been running it for almost 10 years now, never a problem with the tranny.

I use Mobil 1 ATF.. no complaints here.

As long as it's a reputable name brand, and the right kind of oil. It doesn't really matter what you use.

Some people say synthetic is not worth it... but I do. Whats a couple more dollars once a year.

Re: best manual tranny fluid

I switched to royal purple last oil change. Have only ran it in the motor. I love it alot better than the Mobil 1 I was using. Granted it is alot more expensive, I paid $30 for just 5 quarts at O'Reilly. Took care of some ticking problems I was hearing with the Mobil 1. Going to switch over the tranny soon, and then the rear end.

I happened to think that was pretty funny

I went to autozone and oreilly and couldn't find any synthetic tranny fluid.
Maybe they were just out of it?
