Bad Tie Rods?

Hey guys, I need a quick answer.

Lately I've been getting bad shuddering/vibrating while turning. I checked the tie rods as a culprit first and jiggled the tire left to right and im getting 1/16 to 1/8 inch of play on each tire. Is this normal, or a sign of bad tie rods?

Re: Bad Tie Rods?

There should be no play in the tie rods period. Only thing I could see happening to the tie rods is if the threads are getting stripped at the tie rod ends. The rack and pinion might be giving a little.
