Any AutoX cars? What's needed?

I was wondering what do you guys do to make your f-bodies handle? sway bars? coil overs? what do they make for our cars if we want to autox or run canyons?

Sam Strano will love this thread.

I suggest a 35mm front sway bar with poly parts and Koni shocks all around. According to Sam thats a potent combonation.

Check the class rules you want to compete in first.

Thats key... mine goes back to stock for SCCA events so that I dont get pushed up a class. Not to mention if you really want to make it handle, get 99% out of the factory setup before you go and change it.

I have a lot of buddies with a lot of work in cars, and they cant drive for crap, but their car makes them look good. I have a roomate who autocrosses a stock 91 escort and runs faster than pretty much everything at the event... Its almost always the driver, not the car that needs improving... thats just my 2 cents with 7 years of autocrossing under my belt

You do realize that you can do things under stock class rules that would help the car WAY (and I mean *WAY*) more than the things you have and remove. For instance you could put some good appropriate shocks on the car as well as a bigger front bar and be 100% legal in stock. That said, it seems you have poly bushings in the front arms (maybe they are somewhere else, just basing on your sig.....), those aren't legal at all in stock class.

On the other hand, this fellow might already have things done that preclude him from running in stock anyway, and could benefit from certain other parts.

Chris is right... driver is HUGELY important, and the biggest single thing that makes for a fast autox time. Of course a crappy setup is no help, and bone stock can be improved on BIG TIME and be legal in stock category as well.

Autocross is something I have a *little* experience with.

Most days from 11-5 or 6 Eastern time is best for me. I tend to do quiet work on either end.
