Allignment Issues

Angry Allignment Issues

So I walk into Big O tires to get my tires rotated and they tell me I need two new tires that were on the front of my car. They told me that my allignment was so far off that it wore my front tires down to the cords on the inside. I told them to role them out and they did and they were right. The tires were shot. The guy said he would suggest that I have my allignment checked every 3000 when I have my tires rotated. That seems like a bunch of bull to me. I have never heard of a vehicle needing allignment done every 3000 miles. He said, " Oh yeah, Camaros are terrible with allignment and you will probably need it done that often just because thats how camaros are. Is he full of it and have you guys had allignment problems before???

I think he's yanking your crank. My stock set of 16"/GS-C's still had 1/2 the tread on them at 20,000miles when I replaced them with 17" wheels/GS-C's, and I put 45,000 more miles on those GS-C's, and actually sold them to someone with 1/3 the tread on them, and no signs of uneven wear. That would make it 65,000 miles without an alignment, and no issues. I only had it aligned after it was lowered..... that was 5 years ago, and it still hasn't needed an alignment, or shown uneven tire wear.

Depends on how many pot holes you hit, or in my case how many inantimate objects (bridges,curbs, ect.) but at this point looks like you do need an alignment, i wouldnt say every 3000 miles just went you knock it out of alignment.

if you've lowered your car you'll have really bad luck with alignments. someone around here said it throws off the geometry of the a-arms or something like that...i cant remember the whole thread, but basically that's it. also, if you want to go behind them and check the tightness of their bolts they use the one that is under the A-Arm, it's like a 24mm nut though...it's huge.

if you keep going back with bad alignments you may have a bent spindle or steering rod...
