Thumbs up

Fold the rear seat down and look for perforations in the carpet on each side that are in a U shape, once you find them use a utility knife and cut along the perforations until you have a U shaped flap. You'll also need to cut out the carpet insulation beneath that, then just pull out the light yellow foam rubber piece above the shock.

You don't have to cut the carpet, you can remove the plastic panels in the rear and lift the carpet out of the way.

I just pulled the carpet up and pulled out the foam rubber inserts that fill the holes over the upper shock nuts. No cutting, no panel removal.

Lol, cut the carpet? That is a bit extreme.

Rob... you and I did the shocks at the same time (was is around 1998?). Did you do anything different than I did? Is my writeup on shock replacement correct? I don't remember it being all this complicated.

Not really, you're just cutting a U shaped flap in the carpet.
The first time I changed the rear shocks(2000) I noticed the perforations in the carpet above the rear upper shock mounts, so I cut along them. Now access to the mounts takes just seconds, and if you have Koni SAs, or DAs adjusting the shocks is a lot less of a hassle.

Pretty much the same, I would say. As far as access to the back, I remove the back, side panels to make the carpet work a little easier. Nothing too complicated on the rear.
