Re: Abs trouble
I am curious as to the Codes 44 and 46
I thought Code 44 was Bank 1 (left) o2 sensor , lean
and Code 46 was PASS-key II circuit
Did you get a Brake or ABS INOP light on the dashboard ? If you did, do they Stay Lit, or Flash ?
Did you check the ABS fuses under the hood #1 and #5 ?
Here is a link to the Codes that I am aware of....

Here are 2 links with Codes that indicate the 44 and 46 don't represent what you are indicating. What workshop manual are you using ?
GM 93-94 5.7L VIN P ? OBD/OBD2 Trouble Codes

Re: Abs trouble
OK, I just found where you got your Code info from. The 1995 Service Manual, page 423, Section 5E1-22. And it shows just what you indicated. Sorry about my confusion.
Hopefully someone else with more knowledge will jump in here to help you out.

Re: Abs trouble
Do you have access to the 1995 factory service manual? If not, free download here:
https://www.mediafire.com/?40mfgeoe4ctti
ABS DTC 44 is shown on page 5E1-94 (page 495 in the pdf).
ABS DTC 46 is shown on page 5E1-98 (page 499 in the pdf).
No expert here, but looking at the code descriptions, there are three possible causes of each code:
ESB = Expansion Spring Brake. A spring used to hold the modulator piston in the upmost (or "home") position.
ABS Motor
ABS Hydraulic Modulator - pulses the individual braking circuit whan ABS activated.
I realize not a lot of help here, and maybe you already have the factory service manual, and know everything posted above. Just wanted to make sure you have the info, in case you didn't.

Re: Abs trouble
Would have suggested that, rather than trying to tear your unit apart. I have never seen anyone attempt that. But I had no idea if that was even possible for you to import used parts, working from Sweden.
Glad you got it worked out, and thanks for following up.
