ABS Removal (Flaring)???

I'm getting ready to remove my ABS unit and I had a few questions before I start.I've read a few posts about people having a hard time reflaring the rear brake line.I would like to cut and reroute the rear line without replacing the whole line if possible.I have a good Snap-On hydraulic flaring tool and I was wondering if that would make it any easier?Has anybody sucessfully reflaired the rear brake line? One more, what kind of flare does the lines going into the master cylinder have?
Thanks,
JE

Re: ABS Removal (Flaring)???

Just make your own ABS set up and keep it. Thats what i did on my 8.8 3 channel car. It works great now.

I'd rather get rid of the ABS.It sure does clean the engine bay up and I never drive in the rain so I really don't think I will need it.
Thanks,
JE

My car is an LS1 but this is how I did mine. http://www.mustangmods.com/data/440/absdel.jpg

I would be careful using brass fittings unless they are specifically designed for brake systems. The fittings I used are Swagelok stainless steel high pressure fittings.

Re: ABS Removal (Flaring)???

I posted to your other thread as well. I deleted my ABS as well, I posted a pic and info in a few of my posts on how to do it. 40 valve, 2 dollar tee and a couple of fittings and it is all good.

Hey 8850,were did you get your braided brake lines?I like those. Is that recommended to use braided lines off the master cylilnder.I would'nt think so because the same line is at the wheel.I thought of doing that the other day but I thought maybe there was something against useing them cause I never seen anybody else with it.
Thanks fellas,
JE

The braided lines you see are my factory lines. Apparently on LS1's they changed.
