ABS/Brake Lights ON dash. First Step To Diagnose?

is there anything computer related with the ALDL and freescan or datamaster that is ABS related. ever since i installed my motor both lights are on 90% of the time. sometimes they are both off. Is there some codes or anything?. I have everything plugged in and I checked all the fuses.

Thanks

ABS Light

I once had a problem with the ABS light staying on. It turned out that when I had installed spark plug wires that one of them was too close to the abs sensor wiring on the drivers side. I modified the plug wire position and the problem went away.

As far as I know, you can't scan the EBCM with Freescan or DataMaster. You need a scanner specifically for the braking system.

Have you verified there are no problems with the brake hydraulic systems? The "BRAKE" light comes on when the differential pressure switch on the side of the ABS motor unit senses a pressure imbalance between the front and rear braking systems. Leaks, air in the lines, problems with the master cylinder, etc.

Does freescan or data master (or OBDI for that mateR) interact with ABS at all ?
