97 Torque Arm Issue Installing Oem

Just got to installing the OEM Torque arm back in my 97' only to find the angle to the differential will not allow easy install of the arm. Question on the easiest way to connect it back up? The car is on stands with wheels off if that makes any difference. Thanks for the help in advance!

Hopefully, the jack stands are under the subframes and not the rear axle tubes. If they are under the axle housings, move them to the subframes.

To push the pinion down, put a jack under the center of the differential housing, and raise the jack until the pinion is at the correct angle to allow the TA to slide over the mounting surfaces.

Thanks for the advise. The stands are under the sub-frame, and I have a port-a-power to reposition the the rear. I was not certain how much force was needed to get the proper alignment. Again thanks very much! Phil

I mount the TA to the rear end first, then to the tranny. This way the TA can easily be used as a "handle" to rotate the rear end to the correct angle to line up to the tranny. Leverage is your friend
