94 Suspension

I have a 94 Camaro V6. The thing rides really really rough. When you go down the road, every crack I hit it makes a thug noise. What can i do to fix this problem? Im getting new tires on it hoping that will help. Someone else suggested stiffer shock or lowering springs. Can anyone give me any recommendations?

Stiffer shocks and lowering springs? No.

You need *better* shocks. Parts of their valving are stiffer, parts are softer. The stock shocks just have really bad valving, and they are responsible for most of your stiff legged ride.

Bilstein HD's @ $349 are a good option for a V-6, but we do run a different HD rear shock that what's in the catalog. Recently Bilstein screwed up the rear HD's for this car, so we started using another HD for another F-body.

Sam is correct. Lowering your car and going with a stiffer shock will generally make your ride even more of a rough ride.

Sounds like you need a new set of shocks to me. Tire's shouldn't make any difference unless you are changing sizes, or have been running around on flat ones.
